Freelance · on commission · also as a side job
Become a sales partner: help public administrations get accessible PDFs.

Why DokAudit sells well
- An obligation, not an option: BITV 2.0 (Germany’s federal accessibility ordinance for IT) and EU Directive 2016/2102 place obligations on public sector bodies; since June 2025, the German Accessibility Act (BFSG, Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, Germany’s implementation of the European Accessibility Act) has also applied to many companies.
- Huge existing stock: Bylaws, forms, official gazettes, budgets: in our website scans, most of the existing PDFs usually fail.
- Recurring demand: New documents are added every week. An ongoing plan and plugins generate revenue for years – and your follow-on commission.

Example calculation: sales partner
A mid-sized municipality with around 9,000 PDF pages on its website: clean-up of the existing stock approx. €4,500 (€0.50 per page) plus the public sector plan for new documents at €1,800 a year (€150 a month) – together around €6,300 net in the first year.
Example commission| Item | Amount | Basis |
|---|
| Commission, year 1 | approx. €1,260 | 20 % of €6,300 |
|---|
| Years 2 and 3 | approx. €180 each | 10 % of the ongoing plan |
|---|
| Ten such clients | approx. €16,200 | over three years |
|---|
Example without guarantee; actual revenue depends on existing stock, plan and term. All amounts net, plus VAT.
How to sell DokAudit
- First contact: Opening question: “How do you currently make sure that new PDFs are published accessibly?”
- Website scan: Scan the administration’s website free of charge and show the traffic lights – usually most of it is red.
- Pre-Check: A selection of real documents before/after – in the Pre-Check portal and, on request, in PAC.
- Pilot & quote: Pilot with starter credits, then a quote for the existing stock and the ongoing plan.
- Handover: We take care of setup, training and plugins; you remain the contact person.
Conversation guide and objections
What we expect
- Advise honestly. DokAudit makes documents technically accessible and proves it with test reports. No promises about content checks, no legal advice.
- Register contacts. Briefly report new prospects before the first meeting. This secures your lead protection and prevents duplicate approaches.
- Stay active (sales partners). As a guideline, two to four qualified first meetings a month. Referrers have no obligations.
- Respect data protection. Real documents only via DokAudit (hosting in Germany, data processing agreement), never unencrypted by email.
- Act in coordination. Prices and commitments according to our price list; we agree special terms in advance.
What you get from us
- Monthly commission: After the client’s payment has been received, with a transparent statement.
- Onboarding: One to two hours of introduction to the product, the market and how to run sales conversations.
- Demo account: Your own account with credits for scans and demonstrations.
- Support in client meetings: We join in for technical questions from IT or data protection.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to be technically savvy?
- No. You need to be able to explain why accessible PDFs are mandatory and how DokAudit helps. We answer technical questions in the meeting.
- When and how is the commission paid?
- Monthly, as soon as the client has paid. You issue an invoice for the commission or receive a self-billing credit note from us.
- Is there territorial protection or exclusivity?
- No territorial protection, but lead protection: whoever registers a contact first keeps it for six months.
- Can I do this as a side job?
- Yes. Referrers and sales partners work freely, without fixed hours and without being tied exclusively to DokAudit.
- Which clients are the best fit?
- Municipalities, districts, special-purpose associations, universities, chambers and public companies – wherever many PDFs are published.
- What is in the contract?
- A lean partner agreement covering commission rates, lead protection, data protection and term. We send it to you after we have got to know each other.
