The situation
At the level of the German federal states (Länder), documents are created in many departments, often with their own templates and service providers. Consistent quality can only be achieved if the check at the end of the chain is automated.
This gives a central unit an overview of the state of all publications without having to open each document itself.
Typical documents
On request, we design your annual report in full: as an accessible PDF and as an eMagazine, in your existing corporate design. Annual reports and eMagazine
- Funding guidelines and application documents
- Ordinance gazettes and official gazettes
- Specialist reports and studies
- Press releases and brochures
- Budget documents and annual reports
- Forms for citizens and businesses
How DokAudit helps
- Existing documents and new production: Find and check existing PDFs with a website scan; correct new documents automatically on an ongoing basis in the hub or via the API.
- Evidence for every document: A test report with a traffic-light rating, findings in plain language and references to PDF/UA and WCAG, as a PDF for your records.
- PDF/UA identifier only after a passed check: Remediation continues until the veraPDF check passes. Only then is the PDF/UA identifier set.
- Public prices: 1 credit = 5 pages, no surcharges, no user licence. From €0.50 net per page, free pilot with 20 credits.
- Data protection: Hosting in Germany, deletion after 7 days, data processing agreement online. On request as a container in your own data centre.
Example: a department with 5,000 pages of existing documents needs around 1,000 credits; at €2.50 per credit that is €2,500 net. Larger volumes and framework agreements on request.
What the rules require
State authorities are subject to the accessibility requirements of their respective federal state, which are based on Directive (EU) 2016/2102. Federal authorities are subject to the BGG (Germany’s Disability Equality Act) and BITV 2.0 (Germany’s federal accessibility ordinance for IT). The technical basis is EN 301 549 with WCAG and PDF/UA.
Which documents are covered in an individual case depends on state law and use.
