The situation
Hospitals and public health offices distribute many forms and information sheets, often as scans or from old templates. They are rarely fillable or readable by screen readers.
Anyone who takes data protection seriously also wants to know where documents go. Documents relating to patients should therefore never be uploaded without first checking how they are processed.
Typical documents
- Informed-consent and consent forms
- Admission and medical history forms
- Patient information and information sheets
- Hygiene and conduct plans
- Quality reports
- Information material from public health offices
How DokAudit helps
- Existing documents and new production: Find and check existing PDFs with a website scan; correct new documents automatically on an ongoing basis in the hub or via the API.
- Evidence for every document: A test report with a traffic-light rating, findings in plain language and references to PDF/UA and WCAG, as a PDF for your records.
- PDF/UA identifier only after a passed check: Remediation continues until the veraPDF check passes. Only then is the PDF/UA identifier set.
- Public prices: 1 credit = 5 pages, no surcharges, no user licence. From €0.50 net per page, free pilot with 20 credits.
- Data protection: Hosting in Germany, deletion after 7 days, data processing agreement online. On request as a container in your own data centre.
Example: 300 pages of forms and information sheets are 60 credits, i.e. €150 net – exactly one month in the public sector plan.
What the rules require
Municipal and public-law operators, such as public health offices and public hospitals, fall under the accessibility requirements as public sector bodies (Directive (EU) 2016/2102). For private providers, the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG, Germany’s implementation of the European Accessibility Act, Directive (EU) 2019/882) only applies to certain consumer services.
